Finished! The Royal Wedding Quilt

At last I have finished the Royal Wedding Quilt!  Well almost - I still have to take out a tiny amount of tacking thread, but because the sun was shining I rushed and took these pictures in my garden -

Sorry the last picture is a bit light but hopefully it shows up the Prince of Wales Feather pattern which I designed for the four corners.  I adapted it from the printed commemorative medallion at the centre of the quilt.

For those of you who have just tuned in, this quilt should have been made for the Charles and Di Royal Wedding but it never happened!  I put a spurt on for William and Kate but didn't make it, but managed to finish before their first Wedding Anniversary - only 31 years after the great event!

Oh my goodness - how beautiful! I am making my first quilt, from a kit, and I am in awe - especially of what the underside looks like! I will be revisiting for top tips - especially when i get to do the final border/edging

Wow! that's beautiful. Do you think it's classed as vintage now? Well done for finishing it. I'm glad it's not only me that leaves things for years. xx

What a lovely quilt. I love the fabrics you chose. I, too am working on a 30 yr. project and am almost finished. But your quilt dazzles next to the amateurish product I am working on.
